Christian Mindfulness Training is creating a lot of interest in Nairobi. Thanks to Eddie Kabue, Angela Munyao, Jane Nderitu and Barlet Jaji. These have now come together to popularise the Christian mindfulness techniques in Nairobi.
Meanwhile, on 1 June 2011 (a public holiday in Kenya) we were able to train 15 people, mostly young people in a one-day session of Christian mindfulness techniques that in our version has three components: Jesus Prayer, Mindful Journalling, and Labyrinth Walk.
Again, on 5th June, Sunday, we were able to introduce about 40 adults and young adults to Jesus Prayer and Journalling. Those at this training were the members of the Generation Christ (GXT) group at the Don Bosco Shrine, Upperhill, Nairobi.
These trainings bring the number of people who have been trained so far in Nairobi in Christian Mindfulness to 140. This includes, besides those mentioned above, 25 who were part of my research, 7 postulants of the Comboni missionaries, 23 novices and postulants of Salesian sisters, and about 25 who were trained on Holy Saturday. This has not been my plan on arrival in Nairobi. I came down purely for reasons of research. But this is how God works!!!
